Rapture

In the course of life I lost the light.  I lost that feeling of Euphoria.  In the course of death I found you.  There in that place I thought I would emerge from in a body bag, I found you.

I was never religious, not even when every breath sent me farther into hell.  And then I felt your touch, and spun off into oblivion.  So when sometimes I catch myself breathing a prayer when we're together, I don't mind.

Because I thought I was broken beyond repair.  I thought I was alone.  And then you took my hand, and let me lead you out of there.  And then you let me protect you, and gave me a reason to smile.  You re-kindled the fire, and set me adrift in rapture.
