What do we fear?
Why do we hide?
Is it the pain?
Emotional, physical,
Is that it?
What of the Blacks, who were beaten, lynched, set upon?
What of the women who were always 'inferior'?
What of the common Patriot when Britain ran America?
What of our ancestors?
They fought, bled, and died for the right to be free
To be recognized as men
To be recognized as equals
To be FREE
So I ask
Why are we silent?
Are we American, or are we LGBT?
Can we be both?
Yes.
We ARE both, and no one can take that from us.
Every suicide, every hate murder, every law passed,
Every silence, every person afraid to come out,
They tell our story, write it in the history books.
How will you be remembered?
As the first American group afraid to fight?
Please, no, not that.
I am American before I am bisexual,
I am Texan before I am anything else,
And I was raised to fight,
Not to cower from superior force.
Join me?
It is out God-given right
Title says it all. I'm tired of silence, of struggles in the dark. We are American, we should not fear to tell the world who we are. Tired of fear yet?
